Link preview cards in Outlook have been retired

The new Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the web no longer create preview cards when users insert or paste a web link into an email message.
Previously, pasting a link could add a small card with the page title, a short description, and sometimes an image. During the past few months, the feature was unreliable and buggy. Microsoft has now completely retired this feature. Links now appear as regular clickable hyperlinks in the message.

Emails look slightly simpler when links are added, but nothing else changes. Links work exactly as before, and recipients can click them to open the web page as usual. Users who want to give recipients more context about a link can add a short description in the message text.

The change has already been implemented in new Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the web for all organizations.
