Microsoft is rolling out an update that keeps recently used emojis and reactions consistent across Teams devices. Once this change is available, users will see the same set of recently used emojis and reactions across Teams on Android, iOS, Mac, Windows desktop, and Teams for the web.

If a user reacts to a message or picks an emoji on their phone, that same emoji will appear in their recently used list the next time they open Teams on their laptop or any other device.

The change is designed to make conversations feel more natural and consistent, since users no longer need to rebuild their favorite emojis and reactions separately on each device they use.
Good to know:
When users had to reset their local Teams client cache, their recent emojis and reactions were also cleared. This new feature should also resolve this situation.
The recent emojis and reactions sync feature works automatically for all Teams-licensed users and requires no setup or action. The update should be completed by August 2026 on all platforms, including Teams for Windows, Mac, Web, iOS, and Android.
