Users can now add SharePoint Agents to Teams channels. Currently, only Standard Channels are supported. Private and Shared Channels will display a message that they are not supported.

To add an agent, simply paste the agent URL into a new channel conversation and send the message.

After adding it, the agent will send an initial message. You can then @mention the agent in new channel conversations or replies.
Responses may take up to one minute—so don’t assume it’s not working, just allow it some time.

The agent will send a message prompting you to verify the response if Team members have no access to the underlying information source.

To use SharePoint Agents in Teams, users must have a Microsoft 365 Copilot license or a configured Microsoft 365 Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) setup in the tenant. The agent will not respond without one of these.
The agent may take a few minutes before sending an error message if a user lacks the required license or PAYG setup.
