In January and December 2023, Microsoft announced it would update local currency fluctuations for Commercial Cloud customers twice a year (if applicable).
Microsoft will assess pricing in local currency as part of a regular twice a year cadence, taking into consideration currency fluctuations relative to the USD. This will provide increased transparency and predictability for customers globally and move to a pricing model that is most common in our industry.
The latest update to local currency fluctuations was in February 2026 for the Swiss franc (CHF), Danish krone (DKK), Euro (EUR), Norwegian krone (NOK), and Swedish krona (SEK).
A few days ago, Microsoft announced an update to the local currency adjustments.
Starting in July 2026, Microsoft will update local currency pricing once a year, in January, with prior notice every November (if applicable). So Microsoft may update pricing again in January 2027.
Beginning this fiscal year (July 1, 2026), Microsoft will transition to annual local currency pricing updates every January for its Commercial Cloud services, providing customers with greater pricing predictability while continuing to account for sustained fluctuations in foreign exchange rates. The next local currency update will be effective January 1, 2027, and occur annually on this date, except in limited exceptional circumstances. Notifications with guidance on the upcoming year’s pricing updates will be issued in advance every November.
