Teams now offers the ability to customize keyboard shortcuts, empowering users to modify existing shortcuts and assign preferred key combinations.
Through the keyboard shortcuts dialog, users can select a shortcut, enter a new key combination, and save changes, eliminating the need to remember default shortcuts and streamlining workflows.
Timeline
The rollout is expected to be completed by July 2025 and will be available in Teams for Windows, macOS, and the web version of Teams.
Impact on your users
Users can now tailor keyboard shortcuts to suit individual preferences, enhancing productivity and reducing reliance on default key combinations.
Open Settings in the Teams client, navigate to General, scroll down to Keyboard Shortcuts, and click the small hint labeled “See available keyboard shortcuts.”

Users can now view and customize many of the predefined keyboard shortcuts in Teams. However, some shortcuts are fixed and can’t be changed. All shortcut customizations are stored locally; they won’t sync across devices or platforms.

Custom shortcuts are marked with a small pencil icon.
Later, users can reset either individual customizations or all of them at once, depending on their needs.
