Microsoft Teams will soon support multiple emoji reactions per message in chats and channels. This feature will be available to all users and does not require a Teams Premium license.
- Previously, users were limited to a single emoji reaction per message.
- With this update, each user can react with up to 20 emojis on a single message.
- If your Teams administrator has enabled custom emojis, those will also be supported.
Timeline
The rollout should be completed between June and August 2025. This feature will be available on Teams for Windows, Mac, the web, and iOS/Android.
How does this affect your Teams users?
After adding your first reaction, a new More reactions button will appear on the message.

Clicking it opens the full emoji picker, allowing multiple reactions (up to 20 per message and user).

Reactions display in order of popularity, and when the count exceeds the display limit, hovering over the “+N” reveals all added emojis.
Note, if many users are adding multiple reactions, it’s a bit strange.
