Microsoft has announced an upcoming feature for Microsoft Teams that enhances the Q&A experience for organizers during town halls, webinars, and meetings. This feature allows organizers to respond to attendee questions using the title “Organizer” instead of their individual names, providing a unified and official voice.
Timeline
The rollout should be completed in April 2025. This update will be available by default and applies to Teams for Windows and Mac desktop clients.
Feature details for organizers
With this new feature, organizers and co-organizers will be able to choose between using the title Organizer or their own name when posting new questions or replying to existing ones in the Q&A section. Attendees will not have access to this option.
Please note that an organizer must set up Q&A for meetings (if the Q&A feature is enabled in a meeting policy); otherwise, the feature is not available. Q&A is enabled by default for webinars and town halls (with the option to disable it by the organizer).
If organizers post or answer questions, they can now switch between their name and the title “Organizer”. Attendees will see Organizer as the author.
