The “Feed” app in Outlook Mobile will be retired

It seems Microsoft is retiring the “Feed” feature in Microsoft 365. After the retirement of Microsoft Feed on Microsoft 365 Web last November, Microsoft announced the retirement of the Feed app in Outlook Mobile.

Timeline

The retirement starts on 1 May and should be completed by late May 2025.

Impact on users

Users within the organization will no longer have access to the Feed tab in Outlook Mobile.
The Feed app will be removed from the bottom of the screen for those who had it pinned and from the Apps list for pinning.

Recommended alternatives

As the Feed app retires, Microsoft recommends using Copilot in Outlook as a primary alternative. This feature enhances productivity by providing intelligent assistance and content recommendations. A Microsoft 365 Copilot license is required for Copilot in Outlook.

Other recommended alternatives that offer similar content without a Microsoft 365 Copilot license:

  • Files app in Outlook Mobile
  • OneDrive mobile app
  • Recommended section on Microsoft 365 Web
  • For you section in OneDrive on the web
