Microsoft introduced the new Teams calendar last November. Users notice the “New calendar” toggle at the top right of the calendar app in Teams, which is currently disabled by default.

The new Teams calendar combines rich productivity features and the latest innovations, such as Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft Places, to enhance collaboration from anywhere. This update introduces a unified calendar experience that works seamlessly across Outlook for Windows, Outlook on the web, Places, and Teams.
Microsoft plans to enable the new Teams calendar for all users. If preferred, users can select a toggle to switch back to the classic calendar (temporary).
Timeline
The opt-in for all users is expected between April and May 2025.
Impact on your organization
Upon accessing the Calendar app in Teams, users will see the new calendar by default.
A toggle will remain available to switch back to the old calendar if needed. It is advisable to notify users about this change and encourage them to start using the new Teams calendar.
