Edge Management Service now supports cross-platform policies for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android

Microsoft is rolling out an update for the Edge Management Service in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
Until now, users with the Edge Administrator role could configure Edge for Business cloud policies for Windows devices.

After the update, Edge Management Service supports cross-platform policies. Admins can now deploy cloud policies for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.

  • Cross-platform policies are supported for Cloud policies, not for Intune policies.
  • By default, a new cloud policy is configured as a cross-platform policy.
  • A configuration policy created as a cloud policy will only be available for management in the Edge management service.
  • A configuration policy that is created as an Intune policy will be available to manage in both the Edge management service and the Intune portal.

Admins can enable or disable individual platforms within a policy. Some policies apply to a single platform, while others support multiple platforms.

Currently, you can’t filter policies by platform. The Edge Management Service always lists all policies.
