Microsoft is expanding access to Copilot Notebooks by bringing it to the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile apps on iOS, iPad, and Android. This update enables users to stay productive on the go by accessing and interacting with existing Copilot Notebooks directly from mobile devices.
First, a reminder about the prerequisites for Copilot Notebooks:
- Users need a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.
- Users need an active SharePoint or OneDrive for Business service plan.
- Users must have permission to create a personal Loop workspace, called My Workspace.
- Users must have permissions to use Copilot Notebooks.
Timeline
The rollout should be completed in July 2025 (Government clouds are excluded).
How does this affect your users?
This update boosts mobile productivity by allowing users to seamlessly continue their work in Copilot Notebooks across devices.
Users can now open existing Copilot Notebooks created in the web version of Microsoft 365 or OneNote desktop app. Within these notebooks, users can start new Copilot chats or access Copilot Pages and linked references that are already stored in the notebook.
Currently, creating new Copilot Notebooks or Copilot Pages on mobile is not supported; however, this capability is expected to be introduced in a future update.
