New usage and migration reports for the new Outlook in the Microsoft 365 admin center

Microsoft will release new Outlook for Windows usage and migration reports in the Microsoft 365 admin center. This update should enable organizations to track the adoption and usage of the new Outlook for Windows, providing detailed metrics on the number of active users transitioning from the classic version to the new one.

Timeline

The rollout should be completed by late March 2025.

Impact on your organization

After the rollout, the new Outlook for Windows usage and migration reports are available in the Microsoft admin center under Microsoft 365 apps > Usage. Don’t forget to add the necessary columns to your report view.

  • Activity on classic Outlook
  • Activity on new Outlook

Accounts with the Reports Reader role can export reports to CSV for the last 7, 30, 90 or 180 days.
