Compliance administrators can activate the option for a footer in Sensitivity Labels, to add a short text at the end of emails with that label.
If the label is selected Outlook inserts the footer when sending an email.
Until now Outlook handled the footer in this way:
- New Mail
Outlook adds the footer at the end of the mail. - Reply or forwarding of a mail
Outlook inserts the footer at the very end of the mail history. In an email with a long history, it is unlikely that the recipient sees the footer at the end. Outlook added an additional footer to each mail.
After the latest change Outlook handles the footer from a sensitivity label as the sender probably expects. The footer is inserted at the end of the current response.
The footer change is supported only for mails in Plain Text or HTML. Rich Text mails still use the old footer. In my test the footer is already handled correctly.
