New Teams channel with Notes Tab

Until August 2022, Teams created a wiki tab when creating a new channel. Since January 2023 you should change the legacy wikis to the new OneNote notes. The old wikis are replaced by OneNote notes.

Teams now creates a tab for notes again when creating a new standard channel. The new OneNote notes will be used. Creation of the Notes tab can take a minute. It is a normal Teams tab with the known options.

  • If the tab is renamed it has no effect on the note. It is the display name of the tab.
  • If you delete the tab, the notes remain in the OneNote of the Team and could be added again later.
  • You should open the note via the OneNote option (Open in Browser). The Tab link (Go to website) redirects you to your personal OneNote.
